Good to know apples naming has gone stupid. iPhone 6 Plus????

And, I wonder if Cooky wants to start phasing out "i" naming. All new products are Apple-whatever.

I don't own anything Apple myself. I have an iPad through work but it is only used for games and iHeartRadio.

Phone - Samsung
MP3 Player - Microsoft Zune
Computer/laptop - HP laptop/Surface

I wonder if this one actually makes phone calls well? I was in Seattle last week 4 people with iPhones, 3 of them local, and me with an Android. They had to borrow my phone to call someone because none of them could get a good signal, and all of us have Verizon so not the carrier. It's remarkable how often I've had iPhone users tell me how great the phone is and then admit they often text because the call quality is so poor.

I like my iPhone.

I'm glad that it works, and that I have yet to experience the myriad problems I had on my previous 3 droids.

I also like the fact that that the screen isn't the size of a tablet, and that it doesn't make me feel like I'm carrying a toughbook on my hip.

That said, am I excited about the iPhone 6?

Nope.

I'm happy to just be cooking along with my 5c.

I was a die hard Android guy. Pretty much anti-Apple anything. However, I have switched to the dark side. Yes, it's more of a proprietary phone but the OS is second to none. I still use Android devices for work but I just can't go back. The OS is cleaner, easier to use and simply works. I don't have to worry about app spam or getting an app to avoid app spam and Apple's IOS is simply more intuitive IMO.

Also, I have not decided if I am getting an 6 or 6+. I actually prefer the smaller form factor versus the phablets. Although I welcome a slightly larger phone I find it more convenient versus the large ones. I will wait until my contract is up or unless the carriers go into all out price/contract wars and I can get out early.

I will also be getting an iWatch at some point but not sure when. The only Apple products I refuse to buy are the Apple TV (although they have made improvements) and Macs. I am a PC guy through and through. I have built many a PC and simply can't get into Macs.

How bout, "sucks to be you."

I don't have a favorite. Used them all and they all have pro's n con's.

That iWatch is butt ugly. I was hoping for more from Apple/Ivy. C'mon Apple give us a round face.

I started down the hackintosh road, but by the time I priced out what I wanted I just got a mac mini.

LOL Some really gullible "sheeple" out there...

Warning for iPhone users: iOS 8 Wave a hoax

http://www.azcentral.com/story/tech/2014/09/22/warning-for-iphone-users-ios-8-wave-a-hoax/16035885/

Just because you see an ad saying Apple's iOS 8 allows your phone to charge in the microwave, doesn't mean it's actually true.

The hoax ad was posted online and stated "Wave can be used to quickly charge your device's battery using any standard household microwave."

With a look and feel similar to other Apple ads, it appears some people fell for it and fried their phones.

The ad does give one warning: "Do not Wave-charge for over 300 seconds"

I just laugh people who don't like Iphones spend their time trying to put them. down. Just don't buy one. You must have something better to do. It's like the people dissing a Ford 150 even though it has been the top selling truck for 32 years. Just don't buy one. I promise not to rag on your Chevy.

Why? Mocking something you don't like is as old as human nature.

Ford vs Chevy
Windows vs Mac
Cardinals vs Pick a team
Suns vs Lakers/Spurs
My state vs your state
My country vs your country

and on and on and on.

Just not my cup of tea. Enjoy what you have, enjoy what you like. Live and let live. To each his own. Let it be. OK, no more cliches.

I understand and agree for the most part but if you're sitting there with a wonderful Betamax and you're watching the world go to VHS, it's hard to not stand up for your unappreciated machine. That holds true for so many tech toys, your favorite becomes obsolete ahead of its time if the competition wins the public perception battle. So, never give up. Cliches make the world go 'round.

OK, I remember when Android smart phones came out, I had friends who cracked their screens on their Androids by putting them in their front pockets and sitting down. My friends sister cracked her Galaxy S4 the same way. Apple should do what they can do shore up the case but I blame consumer demand for thinner, lighter, cheaper phones.

Consumers want flexible screens so they no longer shatter, they want thinner and lighter phones. They also want them to be affordable. Something has got to give.....literally.

Don't put your phone in your front pocket if your wearing jeans and sit down for goodness sake. Expect the worst if you do.

It appears in most of the ones I have watched the issue is by the buttons. That seems to be a weak link. I wonder if Apple can retrofit the existing line with a support of some sort of if this means a quick redesign and replacement of phones?

Man this sucks for people who bought out of the gate the 6+. I had pretty much already decided on the 6 anyway. I went to the Apple store over the weekend and the Phablets just don't work for me. I have large hands and still prefer the smaller phone feel.
