Apologies to all...

Everyone,

I would like to apologize for some of my posts the last few days regarding Pace and Johnson. These guys just got hired for a job and I know very little to nothing about them. I now nothing about them as people. I want to apologize for my jumping to conclusions. For being critical with out having any facts. For jumping to conclusions and allowing my disappointment in things not going my way to affect my judgement.

I want to apologize to all of you who have had to wade through my meaningless posts. I, like most Card fans, were disappoint in how the draft went. Some of us were able to put it behind them quicker than others. Today..I put the selection of Johnson and Pace, and the rest behind me. These guys deserve a fair shake.

I will be hoping between now and training camp that all our picks are signed and that we add a few FAs to bolster our inside pass rush, WR and CB positions.

I, like all of you, desire more than anything that the Cards would have a successful season and be one of, if not the, elite team in the NFL. I just want to win. I am tired of the losing.

So, time to start new. Heck, this is supposed to be the best time of the year for a Card fan. Optimism is supposed to be sky high. That's what I want.

Please accept my apology.

Don't feel too bad. Let's face it - if we'd had 16 picks in the first round, if not you - there would be some self-appointed "experts" who would have said we picked the wrong 16.

Aw, don't beat yourself up. We all have way too much energy invested in following the Cards but hey what the heck, it's fun, no? I doubt anybody really means any of the negative things they say on this board. It's the heat of the moment. Forgeddaboudit!

Not exactly sure why you feel the need to apologize but you are forgiven. Very few people were in good spirits about the draft on Saturday and Sunday and the anger was wearing off yesterday so not sure an apology is even necessary.

You know...here's maybe a reason to be a little more optimistic about our picks...Let's try lookin' at it this way.

Usually the Cardinals have a Top-10 draft pick in the first round right. Usually when they make the pick, it's usually a "name" we all heard of and the draft guru's think this is a great pick for the Cards that can only help make the Cardinals a better team. Then there's all this hype about our pick. Then there's the annual hold-out. Then there's the sour grapes. Then there is the proverbial "bust" label attached to our pick (Wadsworth, Jones, etc.) Then there's this seperation between player and Cards. Same ole-same ole right....

This time we get 2 pretty good atheltes! They will NOT come in as the Holy Savior type attitude as our normal 1st round guys we draft because finally the Cards didn't put all their eggs in one basket and ask a rookie to be our savior. Btw, that's what it always seems like with our top picks. They seem to think they are better the Cardinals, and we are lucky to have them.

Anyways, maybe, just maybe...we will be a better team (organization) by this latest draft. A positive step forward! I mean, usually there is excitement about the Cardinals draft, and a buzz around town that gives us hope. Unfortunently, that hope is quickly diminished due to contract and player bust reasons. Perhaps this time, since there will NOT be a lot of hype and excitement, the result will be different and we will all be pleasantly surprised.

You never know...it's worth considering, and more importantly...different from what we've done in the past.

all good - now it's time for the Cardinal (dis)organization to join the other 31 teams in the NFL - do the 2 tiered bonus, the camp insurance, etc.
Everybody drafted signed by camp - they have the $ this year.
NO EXCUSES, GRAVES/BIDWILL!!!!

No sweat buddy I feel in alot of cases especially regards to the Cardinals its hard to find a silver lining! Even draftniks are questioning this draft, lets see how it plays out. (BTW-I think it was terrible!) That's why I usually don't jump on someone elses case. Let it fly because we can always pickup the pieces & start again.. Thank GOD it's only football!!

I still think the Bidwills ought to hire "Baghdad Bob" as their PR guy. Just imagine the spin he could put on how and why we drafted such and such a player. Even with the enemy at the door, we would look good.

I agree with jCubby. I don't really think you have anything to apologize for. Although I would say....this darkside crap is just that.....just a bunch of school boy "gang" mentality...nothing more than an excuse to act like a jerk and post thoughtless, and meaningless posts denigrating and making fun of others, while avoiding the issue of thinking for yourself and making any actual football related posts that show much forethought at all.

Greeetings all! I wasn't a member of this board until this morning. I've read your posts for a while now, hoping to find out some information about them cards! And very often I was not disappointed. Thank you. But the reason that I joined was because of Reds post. I just had to say that this post was truly a class act!! I'm sure our new guys appreciate it too. Thank you!

I think that was a good post by RedStorm. He's a passionate fan and there's nothing wrong with that. I had trouble understanding the Cards thinking on draft day, also. I wondered why take Pace that early when some other good corners were available or some other "name" DE's like Redding, White, Peek. I'm pulling for Pace and Johnson to show people they are worthy of their number one draft choice labels. Maybe all this wondering why the Cards picked them in the first round will just get them motivated to prove themselves. Until these and other draft choices get on the field, no one is a sure thing and everybody's a reach.

Got raped by N.O. on draft day trade
