The Minnesota Timberwolves won Game 4 on Saturday to take a 3-1 lead over the Denver Nuggets, but at what cost?
Not only did they lose Donte DiVincenzo to a torn Achilles in the win, losing one starting guard for the rest of the season, they might've lost Anthony Edwards for an extended period too.
Edwards left the game in the second quarter after he attempted to block a Cam Johnson layup and landed awkwardly on his left leg, with his knee appearing to hyperextend in the process. The severity of the injury is unknown, as he's set to undergo tests, but it did not look good.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Edwards was already playing through runner's knee in his right knee. So even if he's able to play through the new injury or make a relatively quick return, he'll be playing on two bad knees.
The good news is the Timberwolves have built up a big enough cushion in the series to absorb a couple blows from Denver if they have to sit Edwards. They just have to hope the injury isn't so severe that he can't return at all this postseason.
