The Minnesota Timberwolves looked impressive at times in their first-round playoff series victory against the Los Angeles Lakers. But they have stumbled in Game 1 of the second round against the Golden State Warriors.
They trailed at halftime by a score of 44-31 and were down 80-60 through three quarters. Stephen Curry had to exit in the first half with a hamstring strain, yet it looks like Minnesota is on its way to losing this contest at home by a sizable margin.
The main culprit for the team is Anthony Edwards, its superstar guard. He scored a measly one point in the first half, and through three quarters, he was just 4-of-15 from the field.
Fans on X are disgusted at how Edwards and the Timberwolves as a team are playing.
"Perhaps the dumbest half we’ve ever played," wrote one fan. "Looked like the D’Lo (D'Angelo Russell) years"
"That may have been the worst half of offense I’ve ever seen in the playoffs," wrote another fan.
"*Ant looks terrible," wrote a third fan.
"Edwards absolutely has to show up for his team if he’s the player we think he is," a fourth fan wrote.
"0/8 is unacceptable"
"Edwards really wants to be in Cancun with clutch," a fifth fan quipped.
"But but but Edwards is Michael Jordan!!!!!" a sixth fan wrote.
Edwards has been compared by many to Jordan and Kobe Bryant over the last couple of years because of his athleticism, all-around offensive game, defense and ability to rise to the occasion.
In the prior series, he scored 43 points in Game 4, with 16 of them coming in the fourth quarter. In last year's playoffs, he looked a lot like Jordan or Bryant when Minnesota upset the then-defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals.

But Tuesday's game is a reminder that he still has work to do if he is to become a true game-wrecker, especially on the big stage.
Plenty have felt that this year's semifinals between the Timberwolves and Warriors would be very competitive. But now, with the Timberwolves in a major offensive drought and Curry's status moving forward in doubt, one cannot be sure what will transpire in this series.

Going to be an embarrassment for the Timberwolves if they lose this one with Steph Curry out. They look horrible.
