While the Minnesota Timberwolves have had some time off since Wednesday, when they wrapped up their series against the Los Angeles Lakers in just five games, the team has still been awaiting their next opponent.
That opponent was finally revealed Sunday night after the Golden State Warriors dominated the Houston Rockets 103-89 in a Game 7 matchup in Houston.
Now, with the highly anticipated second-round clash between the Timberwolves and Warriors set to begin on Tuesday, excitement is at an all-time high for a matchup filled with star-studded talent and fierce competitors.
One of those competitors is young Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards, who found himself trending on social media following the Warriors' win due to past comments he made about Golden State and Draymond Green in 2023.
When asked who he wanted to face in the Western Conference playoffs, Edwards didn’t hesitate to name the Warriors, citing Draymond Green's trash-talking as his primary reason.
"I want to play the Warriors... because Draymond talks so much trash," Edwards said in the 2023 interview.
These comments are drawing significant attention now that the two teams will face off against each other, with a trip to the Western Conference Finals on the line.
"we coming ant man best believe," a fan said.
"I’m seated in my chair already," another fan posted.
Someone else added, "Time to cook up young boy!"
One more fan commented, "Ant Man Finna Go Crazy…. He Want That Smoke."

While Draymond Green boasts a wealth of postseason experience and has won four NBA championships with Golden State, Edwards, at just 23 years old, doesn’t seem phased by the moment either, despite the lack of experience.
He led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals last season and averaged 26.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.2 steals over the five games against the Lakers in the first round, including a standout 43-point performance, which stemmed from a remarkable showing in the fourth quarter.
He’s already handed postseason series losses to Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and now, he has the opportunity to do the same to Stephen Curry—an achievement that would see him defeat three of the greatest players of the past decade and beyond.
