The Minnesota Timberwolves haven't made the NBA Finals yet, but it's largely seen as just a matter of time. Anthony Edwards is one of the best young players in the league and is seen by many as the next face of the NBA.

He won a gold medal alongside Stephen Curry this summer in Paris, and he has long awaited the chance to take on the Golden State Warriors in the postseason.

With the Warriors defeating the Houston Rockets in the first round, Edwards will finally get his chance, and he's been pining to go up against the Warriors for two years now.

There is some bad blood between the Dubs and Wolves. Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green are not friends, to put it lightly, and Edwards relishes the chance to shut the always-vocal Green up.

"I want to play the Warriors. I want to get to the Warriors. Wherever they're at, I want to get to them," Edwards said after losing to the Denver Nuggets in the first round in 2023. "Draymond talks so much trash. That's pretty much the only reason."

Edwards and the Wolves went only 1-3 against Golden State this season, although the playoffs are a totally different beast.

Last season, Minnesota marched all the way to the Western Conference Finals before losing to the Dallas Mavericks, and the Warriors lost in the play-in tournament, missing the playoffs entirely.

With Jimmy Butler added to the fold, the second-round series is expected to be gritty and physical, which is exactly the type of game that both Green and Edwards thrive in.
