Congrats to the Lopes :D When do they plan on making their jump to D1? Their new arena opens next year, right? I know ASU is supposed to play an exhibition game there or something like that.

I read something recently about GCU trying to get into the WAC, but doesn't it seem like the WCC would make more sense? The WCC is all small and mid sized religious affiliated schools, like GCU, seems like an ideal fit.

Plus the WCC schools, like GCU are sans football. All around it seems a better fit to me.

Grand Canyon’s historic women’s basketball season came to a close Monday.

In front of 1,103 at Kellogg Gym in Pomona, Calif. -- including over 200 well-wishers who bussed, drove and flew over 300 miles to see their record-setting women -- Grand Canyon lost 68-61 to Cal Poly-Pomona in the NCAA II West Region Championship Monday.
