The Minnesota Timberwolves now have a commanding 3-1 lead against the Los Angeles Lakers. They did so with a fantastic fourth-quarter performance spearheaded by their superstar, Anthony Edwards.
He scored 16 of the Timberwolves 32 points in the fourth quarter. Ant took charge and inspired the rest of the team to play well and get the much-needed win that took them one victory away from the second round.

The Timberwolves needed another clutch performance from Edwards. He continues to prove why he is among the candidates for Clutch Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season.
He was not alone because the rest of the Timberwolves kept fighting to keep in step with the Lakers. It was a magnificent performance, which has led to them taking a strong 3-1 lead in the series.
The Timberwolves needed a strong fourth quarter to secure the win. They were out-scored 36 to 23 in the third quarter, so they needed to bounce back in the last 12 minutes.
Edwards knew he had to step up because he felt the Lakers would struggle. Seeing Lakers head coach JJ Redick decide on no substitutions, Ant was proven correct.
"I feel like we took their best punches throughout the game and to end the third," Edwards said in his post-game presser. "I felt like they were gassed going down the stretch so just trying to keep my foot on the pedal and keep going."
Minnesota's superstar was not only scoring, but he was also creating for his teammates. He had six assists in the game, but he created many more opportunities for his teammates.
At only 23, it is tough to think about Anthony Edwards being a veteran. However, he proved he had that veteran savvy in Game 4, as he dictated the game. The Lakers had no answer for him, which led to a massive win.
Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch was impressed with how well Edwards led the team. It was a phenomenal night with a storybook ending in that fourth-quarter run spearheaded by Ant.
"He just took over in the second half. He had it going and was aggressive," Finch said after Game 4. "I think there was only one bad shot he took in the last few minutes, other than that, I thought he did a great job."
Now that the Timberwolves have a strong 3-1 lead, Finch should be prepared to finish the job. The Lakers won't be going away without swinging, especially a team with LeBron James and Luka Doncic.
All hands on deck for the Timberwolves as they need Ant, Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, and the rest of the Minnesota roster to keep playing at the highest level possible. They already won at Crypto.com Arena in Game 1. The Timberwolves need to do it again in Game 5.
