The biggest story of Game 4 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers was Anthony Edwards cementing he is a superstar through a 44-point performance. It was one of the biggest nights of his career, out-performing superstars like LeBron James and Luka Doncic.

Game 4 was quite physical, but the Timberwolves had no issues playing that style. Edwards and his teammates wanted to let everyone know they were not backing down despite the physicality against the Lakers.

The game was getting chippy at times, including moments when Edwards and James were shoving each other for position. Thankfully, Ant and LeBron are basketball savants, so they are not worried about any adverse effects from their physical duels.

It is Playoff basketball, and it is more pressure-packed than any regular season game. Edwards did not back down at all against James, which further proves he is thriving on the big stage.

Edwards Wants Everyone To Know He Is Ready

It was an amazing night for Edwards and the Timberwolves, taking control of the series three wins to one. Ant had 43 points, nine rebounds, and six assists to lead his team to the win.

Apart from him, Julius Randle had another stellar night, scoring 25 points. Jaden McDaniels had another solid game with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. They played physical basketball throughout the 48 minutes, which proved the Timberwolves were prepared.

"It's going to be physical, man. I would say I was trying to make a point but, just letting him know that we’re here. You ain’t going to just push us around all night," Ant said about his clashes with LeBron. "I'm not going to lie, he's strong... Just letting him know we’re going to be here all night. I will try to get under his skin."

That is a healthy approach to competition because all is fair in the Playoffs. LeBron knew this, and he kept trying to go at Ant. The 21-year veteran still had a fantastic night, posting 27 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists.

Edwards Will Keep Taking Over For The Timberwolves

Ant had a trademark performance in Game 4, proving he belongs in the NBA's upper echelon. The fourth quarter was one of the best 12 minutes he ever played, as he scored 16 points to carry the Timberwolves to the victory.

Coach Chris Finch was proud of his superstar's performance in this game. Edwards' performance could be the key for Minnesota to advance to the second round and pull off the upset.

"He just took over in the second half. He had it going and was aggressive. I think there was only one bad shot he took in the last few minutes, other than that I thought he did a great job," Finch said after Game 4.

The series is going to LA for Game 5, a must-win for the Lakers. If they lose that game, it will be a disappointing result because almost everyone outside the Timberwolves community picked the Lakers to advance.

Minnesota can cement their place in the second round with a win in LA, which they already did in Game 1. LeBron, Luka, and the Lakers will be prepared, meaning Finch must set the team up for success again.
