Another veteran center option is opening up for the Green Bay Packers. A few days after the Tennessee Titans released Lloyd Cushenberry, the Washington Commanders are releasing Tyler Biadasz, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Biadasz, who is still only 28 years old, spent the last two seasons with the Commanders. He was a fourth-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 and has been a starting center in the NFL for each of the last six seasons with over 6,000 snaps played.

The Packers are in the center market. Elgton Jenkins is coming off a season-ending injury and is likely to be released. Sean Rhyan has an expiring rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent. The roster has no other likely starting options for the center position -- one of the biggest need positions on the roster currently.

Could Biadasz, a former Wisconsin Badger, be a stop-gap option?

Biadasz would check a lot of boxes. He's experienced but still under 30. He made the Pro Bowl in 2021 and has consistently been a top-15 center. And he's being released, meaning he won't count against the compensatory pick formula, an important factor for this offseason. The Packers could sign Biadasz and draft a center in the middle rounds and feel pretty good about the position entering 2026 and beyond.

Compared to Cushenberry, Biadasz is coming off a much better 2025 season and does not have a major injury in his recent past. And as a Wisconsin native, Biadasz could cherish an opportunity to come home and play for the Packers.

Brian Gutekunst and Matt LaFleur will have to decide soon: Do the Packers want to bring back a player like Rhyan, find a veteran in the released market or use the draft to find the team's center for 2026?
