If you haven’t noticed by now, Notre Dame football has seen a surge in recruiting with the 2026 class following a very impressive run in the College Football Playoff.

The Irish currently are contenders for multiple high-level prospects and on Thursday another one included them in his top-5. California running back Brian Bonner trimmed his list to UCLA, Washington, Penn State, Nebraska and Notre Dame. The 6-foot, 1-inch and 185-pound back is ranked as the No. 105 overall prospect nationally by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Bonner has official visits scheduled to each of his finalists, with his to South Bend starting on June 20th. The Irish get the last shot to impress the back, and hopefully that helps win out his recruitment in the end. Notre Dame currently does not have any commits at the position in its 2026 class of eleven commits.
