ESPN are idiots when it comes to sports knowledge, so what makes them think they’re not idiots when it comes to their political views. I don’t watch anything Hollywood related because of their need to be political & I don’t watch sports media either because of their need to be political.

Guy rants about ESPN getting into politics… in a thread about ESPN that has nothing to do with politics.

Oh the irony…

I will be glad when espn is just gone. I used to love that network until they got desperate and fell in with vegas...
Who dafuq ever thought poker was a sport?? They should have fired that asshat first.
At least they still have sports. I miss the original MTV which was all about Music 24X7.

I just read about Brewer on Wikipedia. It says she's from Phoenix (Chaparral H.S) and from quite a good athletic family. Engaged to Frank the Tank. It's too bad. I like reading about our local talent. :(

Her mom was a local Phx news anchor for a long time.

“Given the current environment, ESPN has determined it necessary to identify some additional cost savings in the area of public-facing commentator salaries, and that process has begun,” ESPN said in a statement. “This exercise will include a small group of job cuts in the short-term and an ongoing focus on managing costs when we negotiate individual contract renewals in the months ahead. This is an extremely challenging process, involving individuals who have had tremendous impact on our company. These difficult decisions, based more on overall efficiency than merit, will help us meet our financial targets and ensure future growth.

Here is the list of those reported to be departing, some of whom had been previously announced:

Jeff Van Gundy

Jalen Rose

Keyshawn Johnson

Max Kellerman

Suzy Kolber

Chris Chelios

Matt Hasselbeck

Steve Young

Rob Ninkovich

Neil Everett

Ashley Brewer

Joon Lee

LaPhonso Ellis

Todd McShay

Jordan Cornette

Jason Fitz

David Pollack

Some of those people were actually really good at their jobs...
I used to listen to ESPN radio in the mornings. I can see why ESPN isn't worried about cutting these guys. At the end of the day, most of them it was their opinion on whatever the topic was. I was thinking for the most part it was like listening to a radio version of ASFN. You almost knew what a guy's opinion was going to be before he talked. You could essentially get us to do that for free! LOL!

I think where ESPN screwed up, was taking people out of their niche and trying to make a well rounded household name...like Max Kellerman...Dude knows boxing. Instead of just keeping him one of the best names in boxing, he was thrown at audiences across the board. Another was John Buccigross...I like him, but he was really a hockey specialist for years. To me, it just messes with someone's credibility when they are taken out of their niche (where they are an expert).

When you started seeing Keyshon Johnson on every show, including non football shows, it got crazy. I don't blame Keyshon, he was just boosting his brand. It was like you said, ESPN didn't monitor their situation well. Plus, some of these guys they really did overpay. That's on ESPN, too!

Brewer's oldest brother Charles was a right-handed pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Her brother Chase played baseball at UCLA and her younger brother Connor is a former quarterback for the University of Virginia. Her younger sister Abby played sand volleyball at USC. Ashley's mother Deborah Pyburn Brewer was a news anchor for the CBS station in Phoenix for almost ten years.[4] In September 2022, Ashley Brewer got engaged to NBA player Frank Kaminsky.[12]

The thread is about the bloodbath there, and politics is the cause, so the "rant" is 100% relevant. IMHO.

Get woke, go broke. Ask the morons at Budweiser.
Or ask the morons boycotting Bud Light for other beer companies that are more woke and have been woke for much longer than Budweiser...lol
