Less than one month after hitting for the cycle, Cincinnati Reds prospect Héctor Rodríguez just had another big night down on the farm on Tuesday, July 7.
Rodríguez homered in his first two at-bats in the Louisville Bats' 5-4 victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Louisville Slugger Field. Rodríguez finished 2-for-2, also drawing a pair of walks.
Acquired by the Reds in 2022 via a trade that sent outfielder Tyler Naquin to the New York Mets, Rodríguez now ranks second in all of Triple-A with 21 homers this season. He is hitting .290 with a .918 OPS.

Teammate Michael Toglia, who signed a minor league deal with the Reds in January, is tied for third in Triple-A with 19 home runs. Former Reds José Barrero and Christian Encarnacion-Strand have each hit 17 homers for the Norfolk Tides.
According to MLB.com, Rodríguez is the Reds' No. 5 prospect. The Reds were No. 25 in Baseball America's midseason farm rankings released on July 7.
