San Francisco WR Jerome Simpson has been given a 6 game suspension by the NFL for violations of the league's substance-abuse policy

The 49ers have employed several players with legal problems in recent seasons, prompting CEO Jed York to say after the 2014 season ended that the team needed to be better. Excluding Simpson, San Francisco had 12 arrests involving seven different players since January 2012, most in the NFL.

Baalke's had a couple of these "WTF?" moments like this. It's as if he's making excuses for his own bad signings, but in the process, looks even stupider IMHO. Why on earth would you sign a marginal-at-best guy with that hanging over his head? Makes ZERO sense.

49er fans seem to be optimistic that things aren't nearly as bad as the rest of the football world perceives about them, but I see a 4-win season MAX for them this year. The whole Santa Clara move has been a mongolian clusterfarkle so far. They still can't even figure out how to grow grass in that ugly stadium.

They are on full melt down. If Andrew Luck was in the draft I would understand...but this bad I don't get. I bet SF did know about the suspension as the teams get it way ahead of us. The stadium field is hilarious...they can't get it right....freaking amazing.
