Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese headed to the locker room in Sunday's game against the Chicago Sky after suffering a potential leg injury. The Dream went on to narrowly beat the Sky 93-91.
Early in the fourth quarter, Reese made her way up the court to take a wide-open layup, but her right knee appeared to buckle while she made the motion to take the shot.
Reese then headed to the locker room. The severity of the injury is unclear.
The Dream had been up by as many as 22 points, but allowed a Sky rally that kept the fourth quarter close. With Reese in the locker room, Atlanta was able to hold off Chicago by sinking key free throws before Jordin Canada hit a game-winning layup at the buzzer.
Prior to exiting the game, Reese had scored eight points and picked up five rebounds against her former team. Dream guard Allisha Gray led both teams with 29 points, plus six rebounds.
The win is the third straight for Atlanta, who has bounced back after a series of losses at the end of June. The Dream sit in fifth place in the WNBA standings, while the struggling Sky are 12th with a 9-17 record.
