Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is set to begin her second professional season. Finishing second in WNBA Rookie of the Year voting in 2024, Reese received one of the 67 tallies, with the other 66 going to Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (via Basketball Reference).
Before a wrist injury ended her season after 34 games, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds in her rookie campaign. Clark played all 40 games, leading Indiana to the playoffs with averages of 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists.
Despite their different play-styles, Clark and Reese have been discussed together since the National Championship Game in 2023 between LSU and Iowa.

Reese defeated Clark and the Hawkeyes in 2023 to secure a title. On Friday, the 6-foot-3 forward returned to LSU for Chicago's 2025 WNBA preseason opener.
Despite the anticipation for Reese's return to Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the attendance was underwhelming. The game's official attendance was just 6,373 despite the venue seating over 13,000 (via ESPN).
With Clark being well-known for her ability to pack any arena, her fans were quick to call out Reese for lacking the same pull.
Naturally, this behavior from Clark fans led to significant backlash.
"I rather win in a empty gym, than to lose in a full one," said one fan. "You losers only talk about seats, because you can’t talk rings."
"Try winning like the actual goal is for any player," another added. "asked any player what is more important to them winning or attendance? I bet you everyone’s gonna say winning cause that’s the whole point of sports right to win."
"You can’t relate to this as well," one fan wrote, adding a picture of Reese's championship ring.
"Championship? Can’t relate either," said another.
Another asked, "Do y’all actually like Caitlin? At all? Cause why do y’all follow Angel so damn closely? It’s weird."
