Ciryl Gane vs. Alex Pereira squared off in a Heavyweight bout earlier tonight (Sun., June 14, 2026) on the White House South Lawn from Washington, D.C., for UFC Freedom 250. In a stellar win, Gane landed more and knocked out his fearsome foe (watch highlights).

The two strikers began with an exchange of kicks. Pereira established the threat of his high kick early, while Gane attacked the lead leg. The French fighter worked behind his Southpaw jab, and Pereira started to touch the lead leg as well. Gane threatened a takedown attempt when Pereira started pressuring more heavily. Gane put together a lovely combination, cracking Pereira with an Orthodox 1-2. Gane slipped a high kick and returned fire with a body kick of his own — “Bon Gamin” seemed to have established his range. Just as he began building momentum, “Poatan” kept himself in the fight with a couple nice calf kick connections and a hard right at the bell.

Overall, it was a solid start for Gane.

Gane kept his feet moving and landed well early, walking Pereira into some heavy shots. Out of nowhere, he floored “Poatan” with a huge jab! Pereira’s legs were gone, but somehow he survived a long barrage of elbows and punches. The Brazilian managed to regain his footing, but he was still really wobbly. Gane pushed his advantage, swinging away with combinations and some vicious elbows.

Referee, Herb Dean, gave Pereira every chance to survive, but the damage really added up and forced his hand.

Gane fought extremely well here. Gane was effective at every range, landing heavy kicks while setting traps for the former double champion. The threat of the takedown was a smart addition to his attack as well. Pereira had a few moments, but he was a step behind Gane for most of the contest, and the natural Heavyweight definitely hit hard enough to make him pay for his aggression.

Now two-time interim Heavyweight champion, it’s high time for the Gane versus Tom Aspinall rematch.

Result: Gane defeats Pereira via second-round knockout
