The Seattle Seahawks are slated to enter the 2026 season with some questionable depth at cornerback. Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe are high-level boundary starters, but the Seahawks would potentially be in trouble should injuries occur. Inexperienced third-year player Nehemiah Pritchett is currently penciled in as the primary backup at outside corner.
The Seahawks lost Riq Woolen to unrestricted free agency. John Schneider responded by drafting three cornerbacks, including Julian Neal and Michael Dansby. Until they prove themselves at training camp and beyond, the Seahawks can't rely on a rookie cornerback to contribute much this season.
It's fair to assume cornerback could be a need for the Seahawks in the 2027 NFL draft. One cornerback prospect Seahawks fans should start familiarizing themselves with during summer scouting is Texas Tech's Brice Pollock. Pollock possesses every trait required to develop into a future first-round pick.
The former Mississippi State transfer possesses excellent size at 6-foot, 195 pounds. Pollock was credited with producing 11 pass breakups and five interceptions in his debut season with the Red Raiders. Another season of similar production would surely have Pollock on Schneider's radar.
Pollock is a prospect the Seahawks will likely scout closely this Fall. He's trending towards being a notable name in the 2027 NFL draft.
