Sources: The #Commanders have been open to trading several players, including OL Andrew Wylie and OL Nick Allegretti, both of whom bring extensive starting and playoff experience.

The football Gods are pile driving the Commanders now

"Frankie Luvu has been suspended without pay for one game for repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players, including during Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks."

I'm told Frankie Luvu plans to appeal the suspension.

— Nicki Jhabvala (@NickiJhabvala) November 4, 2025
Frankie Luvu's one-game suspension is without pay. If it stands, it would cost him $508,333, or one-eighteenth of his 2025 salary of $9.15 million. (Players are paid over 18 weeks of the regular season, including one bye week.)

— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) November 4, 2025
The NFL banned hip-drop tackles in March 2024. Since then, enforcement generally has been through fines imposed during the week rather than by penalties during games. Frankie Luvu's suspension is the first suspension for hip-drop tackles.

— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) November 4, 2025
The NFL's definition of an illegal hip-drop tackle says it occurs when a tackler grabs the ballcarrier or wraps him with both arms, unweights himself by swiveling and lands on the runner's lower leg or legs. All elements must be present.

Other notes I had from watching back the offense

-Bill doing too much. Dancing around behind the LOS, trying to hit back side cuts when the front side is blocked well.
-Thought Conerly showed more development. More consistent, improving vs bullrushes (still room to grow there)

— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2025
-Can see Cosmi is still working his way back after his injury. Had some rough reps, but to be expected given his situation. Does need to improve as a puller (dates back to last year too)
-No reason for Bates to continue getting passes on boots/RPOs. Get Sinnott in there

Me: Did you ever have to come out the day after a game and say whoops, my bad when you were coaching? @Coach_JayGruden: "I think my whole career was a whoops, my bad."

Joe Whitt is moving from the press box to the sidelines for their game next week (against the Lions)

Quinn said it looks unlikely that McLaurin plays this coming week. Didn't rule out the WR sitting through the bye but tbd. https://t.co/ZKgt7PxDfX

The Jayden Daniels injury, and the decision behind it, dominate discussion today. Here, however, are the Commanders' defensive rankings:

Expected points added: 29th
Yards/play: 30th (6.2)
Yards/game: 28th (377.8)
Net yards/pass attempt: 32nd (7.7)
Pass yards/game: 29th (253.6)

Brandon Aubrey’s 68-yard field goal attempt is no good, wide left. It would have matched Cam Little’s one-day-old NFL record. https://t.co/Xpujhnpjbn

Always have liked Jacoby Brissett. He was only reason some of those terrible #Commanders games in 2023 were fun.

If I was the #Cardinals, I would stick with him until he really struggles.

They are a better offense with him than Kyler. Period.

The Commanders QB news you've all been waiting for: Sam Hartman finally got a sponsorship deal for his hair.
