The Dallas Cowboys (.493) have the 20th-hardest schedule in the upcoming 2026 NFL regular season. It's a far cry from what they and the rest of the NFC East had to deal with in 2025.
Elsewhere in the division, the Washington Commanders have the 16th-hardest gauntlet (.502), while the New York Giants are right ahead of them at 17th (.498). The two-time defending NFC East champion Philadelphia Eagles are 23rd (.481).
Looking at strength of schedules are fun in the offseason, but very rarely do things turn out the way they were expected once the actual games happen. Teams swing widely in today's NFL, thanks to free agency and the NFL draft, as well as players developing or regressing in their careers.
The Cleveland Browns (.429) have the easiest SOS for 2026, while the Chicago Bears (.550) have the hardest thanks to the juggernaut NFC North plus a rotating schedule that sees them take on the AFC East. View the full list below.
The Cowboys had one of the toughest schedules in all of football last year, at least from the perspective of 2024 records. They ranked fifth overall and ended up missing the playoffs with a 7-9 regular season record.
