Heavyweight Alex Pereira has arrived for UFC Freedom 250 fight week – and he is certainly larger than ever before.
Pereira (13-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) will attempt to make UFC history as the first fighter to win a belt in three divisions when he meets Ciryl Gane (27-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) for the interim heavyweight championship in Sunday's co-main event on the South Lawn of the White House. Much has been made about how much Pereira, a former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion, will weigh on fight night.
Now we have an idea.
According to ESPN's Brett Okamoto, Pereira arrived to Washington DC for UFC Freedom 250 fight week and checked in at a whopping 258 pounds.
A little more than three years ago, Pereira had his last fight as 185-pound champion when he lost a rematch to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287. Pereira moved to light heavyweight for his ensuing fight, a win over Jan Blachowicz, then claimed the 205-pound title by knocking out Jiri Prochazka and defending it three times.

Pereira relinquished the light heavyweight belt for a shot at putting himself in a class all his own. UFC CEO Dana White said Pereira would supplant Jon Jones as the greatest UFC fighter of all time with a win at UFC Freedom 250.
It's unclear if Pereira will cut weight for his fight with Gane, but that will be known Saturday when fighters officially weigh in for UFC Freedom 250.
