AHSAA Softball: Curry's, Alabama signee Ambrey Taylor wins ASWA 2025 Miss Softball award

JACKSONVILLE — Curry's Ambrey Taylor was named the Miss. Softball for the 2025 Alabama high school softball season.

Curry was named the winner during the Alabama Sports Writers Association 2025 summer conference at Jax State. Curry will continue her career at Alabama, signing with the Crimson Tide over the winter.

The senior hit .597 on the year with a 1,929 OPS, helping Curry score three runs per game. She had 103 runs scored with 100 RBIs, thanks to 36 doubles and 24 homeruns. She stole 34 bases and was walked 38 times.

Taylor (Class 4A) leads a group of player of the years in each classification including Gerritt Griggs from Central-Phenix City (Class 7A), Gracie Dees from Saraland (Class 6A), Kendall Trimm from Moody (Class 5A), Emily Needham of Saint James (Class 3A), Anna Claire Free of G.W. Long (Class 2A), Allyx Williamson of Kinston (Class 1A) and Brooke Brasell of Clarke Prep (AISA).

Another Alabama softball signee, Vic Moten won the 2024 Miss. Softball award and was the Class 7A Pitcher of the Year for the 2025 season.
