ESPN's Mike Clay recently put together his stat projections for the Jacksonville Jaguars for the 2026 season. Whether or not this was the intention, these projections also tell us the projected winners of some key positional battles that will take place this summer.

Do we agree or disagree with the projected outcomes? Let's take a look.

Offensive line: Ezra Cleveland and Patrick Mekari are the starting guards

Third-round pick Emmanuel Pregnon adds size to the Jaguars' offensive line unit, potentially providing this unit with a boost in the run game. He could push for one of the starting guard positions.

Agree: Cleveland and Mekari are NFL veterans with experience on their side. For the time being, they'll get the benefit of the doubt when projecting what the starting offensive line looks like.

Running back: Bhayshul Tuten or Chris Rodriguez

How exactly the playing time shakes out between these two remains to be seen. However, based on ESPN's projections, Tuten is the expected clear-cut RB1, totaling 237 projected carries compared to Rodriguez's 100.

Agree -- sort of: I certainly won't be shocked if Tuten ends up being RB1, but I do think the splits between he and Rodriguez will be relatively close. My guess now is that this is more of a shared role.

Tight end: What does the depth chart look like behind Brenton Strange?

TE2 and TE3, based on ESPN's projections, are Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol, leaving Quintin Morris and Hunter Long without established roles.

Partially agree: Similar to the running back room, if Boerkircher is TE2 that won't surprise me. However, I still expect Morris to have a role on this team with his blocking abilities. Morris out-snapping Koziol is a real possibility.

Linebacker: Who starts at linebacker next to Foye Oluokun?

Following Devin Lloyd's departure, this starting spot is up for grabs. ESPN has Ventrell Miller playing the second-most linebacker snaps.

Agree: The Jaguars have remained bullish on Miller, and all offseason, this has felt like his job for the taking.

Defensive end: How does the rotation shake out?

We know that Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker will lead the way, but how do the rotational snaps behind them shake out? According to ESPN. Dennis Gardeck will get his share of opportunities, with Wesley Williams and Danny Striggow seeing regular snaps as well.

Agree: Gardeck will continue to see snaps at both pass rusher and linebacker. Williams, as a fourth-round pick, should see snaps right away, while Striggow out-snapped BJ Green on defense last season -- although one would think Green will have the opportunity to earn playing time as well.
