WICHITA, KAN. (KSNW) — The AfterShocks had a chance to close out the Enchantment and advance to the second round of the TBT but fell 74-68 in game two of their best-of-three series at Koch Arena Thursday night.
The New Mexico alums jumped on top early and led 16-5 midway through the first quarter. The Wichita State alumni scored nine of the final 11 points of the quarter to pull within three at the end of the period.
The game remained close throughout the second quarter, and it was a 34-33 Enchantment lead at the half.
The AfterShocks took their first lead of the game on the first bucket of the third quarter. The team from UNM scored 15 straight to retake a double-digit lead.
The Shocks tightened the deficit to four heading into the Elam Ending. A Marcus Santos-Silva and-one closed the lead to one point, but the Enchantment responded with eight of the next 11.
Conner Frankamp was the lone AfterShock in double figures with 11 points. QJ Peterson followed with nine points.
Vance Jackson exploded for 29 points to lead the Enchantment. KJ Jenkins was also in double figures with 12 points.
The winner-take-all game three is set for Friday night at 8 p.m. at Koch Arena.
