KW didn't need AP to show him how to run hard. It was already in KW's DNA and he's proven it every time he gets his chance.

Other players are motivated when they watch a teammate give it that extra effort. That includes how a pro like Fitz works in practice and how AP runs with vicious intent during a game. True that KW always plays hard---but I believe he gave it that extra push with an injured AP watching him from the sidelines.

Check out the reaction of his teammates when Marcus Mariotta QB of the Titans put on a key block to spring the running back in their winning drive. D players were out on the field celebrating his effort after the play was over.

That effort will rally teammates around another player and motivate them to play even harder than their DNA.

Adrian Peterson: “At the end of the day, I know I can play. If you watch football, as far as being an evaluator of talent, if a guy has something left in the tank... he was able to see (I) can still play the game. … I would want to play maybe 4 more years, 4 to 5 more years.’’

I don’t think DJ has to be hurt for AP to be valuable. Put DJ in the slot and you can’t collapse the D to stop AP like you could last season. I think it’s amazing he gained any yardage looking at that passing game. Sure DJ gets most of the carries and AP won’t like that but between the two of them and if they sign Norwell they’ll wear out teams. I was amazed at how strong AP still is. It’s true he wasn’t a great receiver but he did better than I expected last year. I hate to have to scheme against them on the same play.

Release AP and look to sign either Isaiah Crowell or Jerick McKinnon, either of who can be had cheap and can contribute on special teams.
