After months of rumors and speculation, Aaron Rodgers is finally a Pittsburgh Steeler. Again.

Rodgers officially re-signed with the Steelers over the weekend, inking another one-year deal with them that could be worth up to $25 million in incentives. He signed the deal just in time for the start of OTAs, which began on Monday and Rodgers attended.

On Monday's episode of "NFL Live" on ESPN, NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed how the deal came together.

Schefter believes Pittsburgh requested that Rodgers make his decision before the start of OTAs, which would explain why he waited until the last possible minute to do so.

"I think that it went up to this weekend before they officially and finally knew that Aaron Rodgers did, in fact, want to play," Schefter said. "They had to make sure that Rodgers was fully committed, which he certainly sounds like he is."

Rodgers made a separate trip to Pittsburgh after the NFL Draft and shortly before re-signing, indicating that he was likely returning. Schefter added that putting together a one-year deal for Rodgers "was the easy part" once the Steelers knew for sure he wanted to come back, as they wanted him back as well.

"The Pittsburgh Steelers get the quarterback that they wanted to lead them forward," Schefter added, even if that quarterback is 42 years old.
