Kim Zimmerman of Aberdeen Central is one of five coaches being honored as 2026 Springs Sports Coaches of the Year by the South Dakota High School Coaches Association.

Each year, the SDHSCA honors coaches who exemplify excellence both on and off the field of play. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional leadership, fostered positive team cultures and made lasting impacts on their athletes, schools and communities. Their achievements extend beyond wins and championships, reflecting the values of sportsmanship, integrity, leadership, and mentorship that define educational athletics.

Zimmerman guided the Golden Eagles to their second-straight state Class AA championship in early June at Cattail Crossing Golf Course in Watertown.
