It finally got done:

As part of the deal, the Jets are swapping the No. 13 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft with the Packers’ No. 15 overall, while giving up No. 42 overall (second round), No. 207 overall (sixth round) and a conditional 2024 second-rounder, and the Packers are giving the Jets a 2023 fifth-rounder (No. 170 overall), per multiple reports.

The 2024 second-rounder will become a first-rounder if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays next season.

2023 first-rounder (No. 13), 2023 second-rounder (No. 42) and sixth-rounder (No. 207) picks, as well as a conditional 2024 second-round selection that could become a first if Rogers plays 65% of the snaps.

That makes it seem like a bit more than they actually got. Packers also included their 2023 1st rounder (No. 15) and 2023 fifth-rounder in the deal.

That 2023 1st is just a pick swap...they are giving up Rodgers plus this years 1st for that package from the jets

I look on this trade as good news for Arizona. Seems the holdup was next year's 2nd or 1st to GB. Jets wanted it based upon whether AR says that he'll play next year. GB got it done based upon how much he plays this year. IMO, this tells MO to hold onto picks or players that other teams want. If they really want a certain rookie QB or a Vet WR they'll cave. That's how I see it.

Send D-Hop to the Jets somehow.

They are currently $7 million over the cap after acquiring him and not much they can do with Rodgers to lower that this year. Acquiring Hopking could screw them long term, especially with Rodgers $50 million hit coming each of the next few seasons.

Rodgers is going to restructure his contract with GB before he is traded. That’s why there was some urgency to get it done today/tomorrow morning.

I saw that, but he only counts $15 million this next season. Not sure how more they can lower that number beyond getting just under the cap. Cutting that number in half gets them a few bucks under. You can only push so much out for a 40 year old QB and 30 something WR who in 2024 will count $70 million against the cap as of now.
