If the Pittsburgh Steelers had any thought that Aaron Rodgers wasn't going to be their starting quarterback for the 2025 season, their plans during the draft certainly didn't show that.

The Steelers did not take a quarterback during the 2025 draft until the sixth round when they took National Champion and Ohio State star Will Howard.

As things stand right now, the Steelers quarterback room consists of Maosn Rudolph, Howard, and Skylar Thompson. Hardly a quarterback room that can compete in the AFC North with Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow leading the way.

Pittsburgh's draft strategy is clear, though. As they wait for Rodgers to make a decision on his playing journey, by not drafting a signal-caller, the Steelers have shown the signal-caller loyalty that he has not shown them.

And it all but shows what Pittsburgh is expecting in the coming weeks ahead.

"They still have a feeling of confidence that Aaron Rodgers is going to wind up in Pittsburgh," ESPN's Adam Schefter reported over the weekend. "That could have contributed to their decision to bypass a quarterback in this draft."

If Pittsburgh was doubtful that Rodgers would walk into retirement, they would have drafted a quarterback already. They don't owe the veteran anything at this point.

It's in Rodgers' hands now. And while Pittsburgh could have drafted a quarterback, with the fact that they didn't shows that the team is expecting Rodgers to sign with them in the coming weeks.

Nothing has happened yet, but it all seems inevitable now. Rodgers will be a Steeler, and Pittsburgh will have a quarterback to potentially get them out of that mediocre rut.
