I don't see why we should drop any type of attitude we might have had toward that situation......Kasper didn't come and appologize, he called up his publicist because he was afraid his "rep" would be ruined and had his publicist issue a statement to SOMEONE ELSE(not Shane) just pimping all the great charity work he does.

This wasn't about charity or how much money/time the guy donates to kids, it was about 1 incident with 1 kid that was EXTREMELY rude.

P.S. I didn't see an apology in his publicist's pimp statement.

Just thinking that sometimes I screw up and really didn't mean it. I might be so wrapped in a problem that I create another. When I look at it later I KNOW that isn't me, what I believe, or how I would have consiously chosen. Doesn't change the fact that I am human and just screw up sometimes.

Only thing you can do is try to make ammends and do better next time...and remember to try and recognize the human failings of others.

Ohhh, you were there? You saw this happen. KK can't recall it happening. I guess he got amnesia. I think it shows brass to come to a non affiliated website and even give us the time of day. No way a player during camp could do it so Chrissy came and stuck up for him. She is a Cardinal employee not his publisist. They said it would be out of character for him to have done that. Not saying it didnt happen but I think it could have been a misunderstanding. I was always and am now willing to give KK the benefit of the doubt.

I'm posting some comments below from Shawn who works first-hand with Kasper at several community events.

I wasn't talking about Chrissy's post, what she posted was fine, the quote is what I had issues with.

Lets say for arguments sake that KK didn't actually blow Shane's son off at least not that he was aware of. How do you think he would feel about getting absolutely torn a new one and told to go F himself for something he didn't even do. If it was me, I'd probably be pissed and tell everyone to stick it. He showed he at least cared and did something about it. Give the guy a break. Do you really expect him to get on this forum on a computer during camp and apologize, and even if he did would anyone believe it was actually him? It's amazing how this thing has snowballed. I would be willing to bet that there a couple guys on this team that are bigger jerks than KK.

Ya, I really didnt think this was nothing more than Crissy sticking up for Kasper. Just becuase he didnt recall doing it, doesnt mean he didnt do it. If Kasper really felt bad, he could have written something up real quick and had her post it. I never said anything in the thread that started this, but I read it. I just feel kasper could have wrote something like he truely doesnt remember it and if it came across that he was rolling his eyes, that wasnt intentional. Instead we get a pr spokesman defending him. I dunno. Guess my point is, Im more aggitated by the respone than I am with the actual event, bcuz I wasnt there.

We weren't wrong to pile on, as shown by the lack of an apology and just basically a statement saying, "look at me I do this this this this and that, so I'm not a bad guy just because I was rude to ONE kid, I'm nice to all these other ones"

CT, did you ever think that maybe that was written some time ago and was not written for this thread. It looks like a publicity plug to me and was probably something they had on file and Chrissy just used it for emphasis.

It's obvious that KK feels bad about this incident and like Rats said, even if he did post an apology, would anyone have believed it was him. A number of people have suggested he send Shane's son an autograph and I think he wouldn't have a problem with that. Maybe if Shane PM's Chrissy over on the card board and sends her his address, KK will respond.

Last week I received a phone call from Shawn Clark in our Community Relations Department,

"Kevin Kasper is a huge community guy. He is always the first one to volunteer for the various community events that we have going on in the Valley and throughout Arizona, and I have seen firsthand how he is with children. Kevin is one of the favorites at our Junior Gatorade Training Camps. He makes all of the children feel like they are special and that it is his pleasure to be able to be invited to their school. He also volunteers to work with high school students who are invited to attend our annual Educational Football Skills Camp. This year, he worked with a group of wide receivers from various high schools across Arizona. Kevin is also active in our Cookies and Milk Program which gives elementary age children the opportunity to listen to a Cardinals player read a book to a group of students.

All of these interactive programs are geared towards players that enjoy being around and sharing their experiences with our youth. Kevin is clearly an athlete that cares about all people, and most importantly, he cares about the importance that his small role might play within the life of a child."

You may notice that the quote is from a guy in the community relations department. From the post it sounds like he sets up guys on the Cards who want to donate their time. I don't think he's KK's personal publicist. Do yourself a favor and go back and reread the first post SLOWLY. That may help.
