This front office is in a bit of a quagmire and how they handle it may define the rest of this season and maybe more.
There is a huge decision that MO and Gannon has to make.
Whether they go back to Kyler or stick with Brissett there are huge ramifications on the outcome.

National consensus overwhelmingly believe Brissett should continue to be the starter. You can come up with different excuses of why this offense looks better. The play calling. The opponent. Whatever. Brissett has played better and is operating this offense Better than it is has for a long time. So many will question giving the keys back to Kyler.

If Kyler steps in and this offense keeps clicking all will be happy. If it doesn’t it will be an indication that perhaps this staff can’t evaluate their own personnel.

The easy way out is to put Murray on I.R. He would be eligible to return in 4 weeks and all questions would be answered by then.

I truly do not believe this decision rests squarely on Gannons shoulders. He will be a company man and support the the “ companies “ decision. Right now, he’s saying all the right things albeit cliches.

I just remember Gannons “Pew-Pew” video. Little did we know it would be mostly P.U.- P.U.

Bruce Arians expects Bidwill to force Gannon to start Murray when he is healthy. After that, performance will dictate who starts.

We now know they have chosen JB and benched Kyler. But still this thread is relevant as, what about next year and the years beyond? How does this team maneuver in a way that would ultimately put them in a position to locate their next QBoF? Will be fascinating and great board material to see it all play out.

Didn’t see this playing out so quickly. Glad it’s settled.

We keep hearing Brissett is a career back-up. And Kyler needs a better supporting cast around him to excel.
Yet we have a 42 year old Flacco throwing for over 400 yards. Rodgers over 40 years old. Daniel Jones suddenly looks competent. Mayfield had really blossomed.

Brissett has never been on what you would call a good team. Bad or mediocre teams tend to move on from their Qb to draft their QBOF. Brissett is 32 years old. How would he perform with a “ great” offensive line?

Go ahead and blast away with Brissett is just a backup. But he’s made our 3 main receivers better in a very short time.

It looks like the times are a changing.

I really hadn't thought this way... Brissett as the permanent solution... Hmmm... it could definitely be worse I guess.

I'll say it again I was basically out on the season, fed up after the Titans loss.

But the play of JB and now Nolen's debut have sucked me back in. Harry said Nolen might be our best DL since Swann(forget the exact wording) and I agree the difference is when Eric was that age he was a neophyte had barely played, Nolen is already showing out against good NFL players. Will be fun to watch. I don't think it's a coincidence that Sweat and CC looked so good last night, Nolen was attracting help and that left other guys single blocked.

Look it’s pretty simple…Brissett stands tall in the pocket, goes through his progressions and delivers a decent pass, even in the face of pressure. Often getting hit as he throws. This has allowed the offense to produce. The receivers all look much better.
Kyler Murray is incapable of this kind of performance. What he has proven is that his style of play is not conducive with Petzing’s offensive game plan.
We don’t need to see anymore! We don’t need to allow Kyler to come back and “see if he plays better”.
Kyler has a mid foot sprain that is not serious. Keeping him out is a temporary excuse to keep Brissett in and win more games.
I too think Kyler goes on IR and gets moved this off season.

A.S from ESPN is saying that the Kyler injury is 4-8 weeks, that being out there allows the coaching staff to keep using JB without as many questions. Who knows what the real story is. I know this, JB has earned the right to be the starter.

Nolen got double teamed on quite a few of his 20-25 snaps, Sweat & CC benefited from this. He's only gonna get better with more snaps.
