The Knicks are taking their victory lap with help from Jimmy Fallon.
New York Knicks stars Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns and the rest of the team stopped by "The Tonight Show" on Monday, June 15, to celebrate their NBA championship.
The Wu-Tang Clan served as musical guest for the episode.
The celebratory appearance came two days after the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs on June 13 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, scoring their first NBA title since 1973.
“Thank you for bringing a championship to New York. Has it sunk in yet, is it all surreal?” Fallon asked Brunson, who sat alongside Towns and coach Mike Brown.
“No, it hasn’t sunk in yet, I don’t know if it will for a while,” Brunson responded. “The opportunity presented itself, we went out there as a team, fighting back all those games, it was worth it.”
Fallon, who attended several Knicks playoff games courtside, recalled the thunderous reaction from fans throughout the championship run. “Is it distracting or helpful,” he asked the trio. “When we get the fans involved and we give them something to cheer for, it’s something special,” Towns said.
“There’s different reasons why everyone thinks the Knicks won, there’s different superstitions,” Fallon said, pointing to one superstition involving Towns' fiancée, Jordyn Woods, who frequently carried a Knicks-orange handbag from her fashion brand during games. The viral bag has been called the team’s good luck charm. “What do you want me to say? We were undefeated in the playoffs,” Towns responded. “Obviously, she made some magic when she made that Woods by Jordyn Woods bag.”
Fallon also referenced another fan theory involving WWE wrestler Danhausen, who claims he lifted a curse from the Knicks after they fell behind the Atlanta Hawks 2-1 in the first round, according to a Cameo video, the NY Post reported.
"Apparently after he 'uncursed' the Knicks, you won every single game," Fallon said. “At first, I was a little skeptical, but you have to believe it now,” Brunson said.
Fallon is a New York Knicks fan who has been cheering the team on at numerous games this season. The "Tonight Show" host was in the crowd for Game 4 in New York on June 10, where the Knicks stunned by defeating the Spurs and scoring the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.

Recounting the experience on "The Tonight Show," Fallon described that "insane" game as one of the best in the history of basketball. "It was unbelievable," the late-night host said. "Everyone was crying, hugging. ... Shoutout to all the Knicks fans out there! You guys are the best."
The Knicks' appearance on "The Tonight Show" comes more than two years after Brunson sat down with Fallon in February 2024, and the comedian asked, "When the Knicks win the NBA Championship, will you bring the Larry O'Brien Trophy here, to 'The Tonight Show?'"
"I will, 1000%," Brunson said at the time. "I'll bring it right here."
