A.J. Brown's career as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles has come to an end in perhaps the most fitting way possible. On Sunday afternoon, in what is all but confirmed to be his final day as an Eagle, the Super Bowl-winning wide receiver has deactivated his social media accounts.

Brown is expected to be dealt to the New England Patriots on Monday afternoon, right after the June 1 deadline expires at 4:00 PM EST.

His time in Philadelphia will be defined by controversy.

Brown, who was drafted by Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel in Tennessee, joined the Eagles by way of a trade in 2022.

He recorded a career-high 496 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first season with the team. Brown led the offense to a Super Bowl berth.

The following season, he recorded 1,456 yards. He struggled with injuries in 2024, but was healthy enough to record 1,000+ yards in 13 regular-season games. Brown scored a touchdown in both the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl, helping the Eagles knock off Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

Even though he never finished a season with less than 1,000 yards, Brown never seemed content in the Eagles locker room.

His antics ranged from reading self-help books on the sideline in the middle of games, to directly calling out everyone from teammates, to coaches and even fans.

I hate to call the player guilty of any crimes before he is even on the team. However, deactivating your socials while the conversation is being finalized to become a Patriot feels like a messy start.
