Well, you were all always wrong. Raynoch has ALWAYS played on the side of the field that the TE usually lines up on.

Utter garbage. Raynoch has ALWAYS played left side LB and NEVER flipflopped.

Reggie Wells really wow'd me at trainning camp last year. He is quick enough to play guard, but I think he would be better long term at RT

Hmm, I don't agree.
I saw Wells get lit up (Madden style) a couple of times in games last year.
I mean he got knocked right off both his feet. Guard might be better for him.
But I don't know

It is good to hear Thompson is weak side. It will suit him much better, as well as it will help Hayes.

I am not surprised about Bryant Johnson. Not one bit. The kid has speed, and I was expecting the toughness to get better. Last year he got the shock of getting a NFL hit out of his system. I was and am still worried about his hands but it sounds like he is going in the right direction.

So much positive stuff coming out of camp. Its just unbelievable.

However, I got my hopes up last year. So, I'm a bit more wary this time around.

Last year, the season just absolutley blew up in our face. When the Cardinals got smoked by Seattle in their own house, you knew it was over. We had no shot.

I KNOW its different this year. But my heart won't let me get my hopes up again until were sitting at 6-2 or 5-4 (or at least 3-3). :D

I feel your pain. But I wouldn't put too much stock on the Seattle blow out because the Cards had back to back wins at home, begining with the Packers.

Last season, the Cards as a team seem disorganized--even though they had the tallent to compete with every team they played. Just look at how tough they played the Panters (Super Bowl team) and the Rams at home.

e. Josh McCown. Holy moly. Wow. Denny Green might just be right that there is a high caliber QB ready to emerge in Tempe. I want to watch another camp next week before I say more.

It's great to see McCown continue his progress and continue to take steps.

Yes and no...

It was correct, that Ray played strong side backer. The left side is usually the strong side....

You misread my post. I said that he ALWAYS lined up on the side that the TE usually playes on. That's USUALLY the QB's right side. We agree. They didn't flip flop, but Ray-ray ALWAYS played on the left side (from the Safety's perspective), which was usually the STRONG SIDE.

I'd still feel more comfortable with a Rothlisberger in the fold. But that might hamper him ( Mc Cown) in the long run looking over his shoulder. But hey this guy is going to FEEL THE HEAT (so he better get used to it) this year and grooming another legitimate NFL prospect QB will either inspire him OR show that he really isn't the answer at that position. I for one am not willing to gamble. I'd say pass on the wr on #3. Build for the future now. Boldin and B. Johnson are fine, and you can always find vet recievers who are decent!

Real good post though.

Yeah and Jake and Blake looked great in mini camps too. So did Chris Greison. Dont you think it is a little premature to pull out the 'I told you so'?

No. Chris Greissen NEVER looked good in camp. I reported that over and over for two years and was routinely ignored or contradicted.

However, you are correct about Jake and Jeff having good minicamps. Camp is just training. We shouldn't make too much out of it but neither should it be discounted altogether.

WildBB:

I'm not sure that you can "always find vet receivers who are decent," but I would remind the Cardinals' brain trust that this is being touted as one of the best draft classes for WR in recent memory, if not of all time. If there's one position at which solid prospects are likely to be available past Rd1 this year, it's at wideout.

Besides, you'd think the Cards would be reluctant to take a receiver with their initial pick two years in a row (especially given Dennis Green's recent comment that the team shouldn't have had to sign FA Bertrand Berry this year after drafting Calvin Pace in the first round a year ago). I'm not opposed to the "best player available" theory, but the Cards spent two of their top three picks last year to bolster the receiving corps. You'd hope they could find a blue-chip prospect at some other position of equal or greater need, this time.
