A’ja Wilson was already the most decorated player in WNBA history. Now, the league’s first four-time MVP is also the highest paid.
Wilson signed a three-year deal with Las Vegas that is the richest contract in WNBA history, starting at $1.4 million in 2026 and potentially reaching more than $4.7 million with maximum raises, a team source told The Athletic. This comes after she made $200,000 in the 2025 season.
Several players took team-friendly discounts in free agency to help front offices build out complete rosters, including Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray and Jewell Loyd, all of whom signed for far less than the supermax. That allowed Wilson to sign with the Aces for her highest-possible value in the 2026 season and set a new precedent in the WNBA.
