Didn't get to watch this year. Was driving home from Palm Springs. Followed most of it on my phone via a few friends.

Love that Argo won, but we really do not need politicians or their wives announcing any winners. Stay out of our Oscars' ceremonies, please.

Started off well but then just fizzled out. Seth had one great joke towards the end (introducing Meryl Streep) but that's about it.

What I don't get is why you people watch when you know you aren't going to like it. Guess it comes from watching our horrible sports teams.

The "Life of Pi" didn't deserve most of the awards it received.... it simply wasn't that good of a movie.... and, of course, I don't understand Hollywood's love affair with Tarentino, either. I can understand why some people enjoy his movies, but Oscar quality? Really?

Tommy Lee Jones got screwed, as did Spielberg.

The boobs song, the not gay enough joke and the giving yourselves the flu joke were solid. His jokes about his own movie wee also good. Seth McF was one of the best hosts I can remember. Not saying too much, but how soon people block out James Franco.

And people really need to get over how long and boring it is. Build a DVR cushion and fast forward through commercials, musical numbers and boring speeches. We actually watched some commercials so we didn't have to listen to all of the oscars.

They will never shorten it. It makes too much money to shorten it.

Totally agree. Life of Pi was the most overrated movie of the year. Glad it didn't win best picture.

Not a big fan of Seth but I thought he did a good job. I also liked the "Jew jokes" from Ted as well as the ones you mentioned. Teds real name is "Theodore Shapiro" LOL!

I also FF through the silly speaches and comercials. Can watch the whole thing in about an hour.

Waltz plays a German well. Where is he from again? Only kidding. I thought De Niro should have won. A New Yorker playing a Philly guy.

Totally off-topic, but I wish people could realize just how hurtful comments like these can be to people who are just extremely thin (like my daughters). It's just as insulting, yet for some reason it's socially acceptable to bag on thin people. The only real true difference is that my kids couldn't get any heavier if they tried. It's just not how they're made. My youngest is about 5 feet tall and is just over 70 lbs. It's how she's built. She gets insulted all the time for how skinny she is and no one ever considers that it is just as hurtful as calling someone that's overweight "fat".

When she's older, she may fill out some, but for now, she's just super skinny. Doesn't mean she has an eating disorder, although she gets accused of it.

Actually that is perfectly on topic. If you think I am wrong and that the two ladies I mentioned were skinny instead of WAY to "Oscar thin", I don't know what to say. Both have been on my tv for years and never looked so skeletal.

Even a family member who watched it with me who has been treated for any eating disorder questioned them.

We also discussed the double standard of women being pressured as objects, but the men not having to get haircuts or even shave.

I liked Seth and think from now on, all Best Picture Nominee recaps should be done in sock puppet form.
