Philadelphia 76ers rookie guard Labaron Philon continued his impressive start to NBA Summer League, delivering another standout performance Saturday night to lead the Sixers to a 100-93 overtime victory over the Indiana Pacers.

Philon took control when the game mattered most, scoring timely baskets in overtime and making several clutch plays down the stretch. The former Alabama star finished with a game-high 24 points, six assists, three rebounds and one steal, further strengthening his case as one of the breakout performers of Summer League.

The 6-foot-3 point guard showcased an advanced offensive arsenal throughout the contest. His mid-range pull-up jumper repeatedly proved nearly impossible to defend, while his explosive first step and polished footwork consistently allowed him to create space against Indiana’s defenders.

Philon powers 76ers past Pacers with overtime heroics​

Philon displayed the poise of a seasoned floor general, controlling the tempo while making smart decisions with the basketball. His ability to score from multiple levels and create opportunities for teammates has quickly become one of Philadelphia’s biggest storylines in Las Vegas.

This marks the second consecutive game in which Philon has played a pivotal role for the Sixers. In his Summer League debut against the Detroit Pistons, he recorded 18 points and seven assists, flashing the playmaking ability and confidence that made him a first-round selection out of Alabama.

Against Indiana, however, Philon looked even more comfortable operating at the NBA pace. Rather than forcing shots, he let the game come to him, taking advantage of defensive mismatches and knocking down difficult jumpers when the Sixers needed offense most.

His performance also complemented another strong outing from big man Johni Broome, who contributed 23 points and 11 rebounds as Philadelphia improved to 2-0 in Summer League play.

While Summer League results should always be viewed with perspective, Philon has already demonstrated why the 76ers were so intrigued by his combination of scoring, court vision and competitiveness. If his first two games are any indication, Philadelphia may have found another young guard capable of contributing sooner rather than later.

For a rookie still adjusting to the professional game, Philon has looked remarkably composed, and his stock continues to rise with each performance in Las Vegas.
