Given that it’s been some time since the Philadelphia 76ers were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, following a series sweep by the New York Knicks, various players have started to enjoy the offseason. One of whom was Adem Bona, who was spotted at the Philadelphia Union’s MLS match against the Columbus Crew on Saturday night.

The Sixers’ big man wasn’t just seen at Subaru Park, but took part in the Union’s pregame ceremony of banging the drum. This isn’t something that should come out of the blue, as several members of the Sixers have been given the opportunity to partake in the tradition, including the likes of Cameron Payne, Guerschon Yabusele, Tyrese Maxey, Andre Drummond, and Paul Reed, who have all banged the iconic drum before.
Making his way to the Union game might not be out of the wheelhouse for the Nigerian player, given his love for the beautiful game, constantly being spotted wearing various kits in Philadelphia’s pregame tunnel, as well as a visit to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in North London during last year’s offseason.
Notes ahead of Bona's offseason
This past season saw Bona take on a bigger role with the Sixers, appearing in 13 more games than in his rookie season, with a roughly 2-minute increase in court time, averaging 4.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. The upcoming season will be an important one for the 23-year-old, given that it will be his last guaranteed year under Philadelphia’s payroll, as the 2027-28 campaign is held under a team option, as reported by Spotrac.
