The 2025-26 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it is the time to look back on the season that was for each player. The Sixers finished 45-37 and as the No. 7 seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs before upsetting the Boston Celtics in Round 1 and falling to the New York Knicks in Round 2. They had to battle through a tough season injury-wise, but there were some good moments for everybody on the roster.

Up next in this series is Adem Bona who wrapped up his second season receiving more playing time as a backup big man to Joel Embiid. The big man from UCLA played in 71 games, starting 18 of them, and averaging 17.4 minutes per night. He went through some more learning experiences in the NBA, still had some fouling issues, but Bona showed a lot of growth as a young player.

For Bona, here's a review of his season:

Bona's season overview

Bona didn't have a hugely impressive season, but he continued to protect the rim at a high level. He had 24 games with multiple blocks, including coming up with five blocks in an overtime win over the Washington Wizards on Oct. 28. His finishing around the basket still needs work, but that will come with time in the league as he continues to build and grow as a player.

With Joel Embiid battling appendicitis, Bona started the first three games of the playoffs and came up with 10 points, five rebounds, and three blocks in Game 3 against the Celtics. However, the fouling issues popped up as he fouled out of that game in 22 minutes. He also picked up five fouls in 3:47 in the Game 1 loss to the Knicks. That is an area that he has to be better in going forward.

Final grade

Overall, Bona had a solid second season in the league. Could it have been better? Sure, but he is still so young. He is going through the ups and downs of being a big man in this league, which should allow him the blueprint to grow and be better for the future. It's obvious the Sixers like him and he just needs to slow down and learn how to be better as his career continues.

Final grade: B
