A handful of Los Angeles Rams players had their spots on the team become even more secure over the weekend thanks to contract triggers that vested. Spotrac outlined seven players who either had their salaries become guaranteed or earned roster bonuses, including Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams and Alaric Jackson.

These were all accounted for on the salary cap already, but with bonuses being paid out and salaries becoming guaranteed, it makes cutting or trading these players more difficult. For example, because Colby Parkinson earned a $1.5 million roster bonus over the weekend, it will cost the Rams an extra $1.5 million in dead money if they were to trade or cut him – not that they have any plans to.

Stafford’s $40 million salary this year became guaranteed in the past few days, as did Jackson’s $18.9 million salary, while $5 million of Nate Landman’s 2027 salary also became guaranteed, making it likely that he’ll be on the team next year.

The Rams can still rework Stafford's contract, which they've already discussed doing. They can also restructure Adams' to free up some money if they'd like, as well. But as Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk pointed out, trading Adams becomes more difficult now that his $6 million bonus has been paid, though it does make him more enticing for other teams because they won't be on the hook for that money.

All of these contract triggers were previously planned for and well-known by the front office, but they're worth noting for any players the Rams might consider moving on from.
