The Atlanta Falcons went into the 2026 NFL offseason with the goal of elevating the floor of the roster for 2026, and after the first month of free agency, the team has successfully done so. While you can debate whether or not the Falcons have improved, they've been very cautious with their limited salary cap space.
The team let a few key players walk in free agency, including linebacker Kaden Elliss, running back Tyler Allgeier and cornerback Dee Alford. Atlanta replaced these players by signing affordable veteran free agents, such as running back Brian Robinson Jr. and cornerback Darnay Holmes.
On Tuesday, former Falcons wide receiver David Sills V signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sills has reunited with offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, and the duo will face Atlanta twice next season.
There are still seven members of last year's Falcons team available in free agency, including edge rusher Leonard Floyd and quarterback Easton Stick. Check out the full list, along with team's free agent additions and departures below.
Hodge was released by the Falcons at the start of NFL free agency, but the former Pro Bowl wide receiver has yet to find a new home. Atlanta could still potentially bring Hodge back since the team is so thin at the wide receiver position. Edge Khalid Kareem and linebacker Josh Woods could also be in the mix to return to Jeff Ulbrich's defense next season.
The Falcons have added several new faces in free agency, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receiver Jahan Dotson and kicker Nick Folk. A few familiar faces returned as well. The team signed veteran tight end Austin Hooper and wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, both of whom began their careers in Atlanta.
Former Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney signed with the New York Giants, while Alford joined the Buffalo Bills and Allgeier signed with the Arizona Cardinals. Meanwhile, veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins officially signed with the Las Vegas Raiders earlier in the week.
