Training camp favorites are not always established starters or first-round picks. They are often young players who make an unexpected play, embrace physical practices, or give fans a reason to follow their roster push.

The Eagles have several candidates capable of generating that type of summer momentum.

Tank Bigsby

Bigsby flashed during spring practices and offers the power to complement Saquon Barkley. A few forceful runs during padded sessions could quickly make him a popular choice for the No. 2 running back role.

Eli Stowers

Philadelphia selected Stowers 54th overall after he earned first-team All-America honors and won the Mackey Award. His athleticism and receiving ability should produce eye-catching plays against linebackers and safeties.

Shaun Wade

Wade joined an exceptionally deep secondary competition. His size, NFL experience and ability to play multiple defensive back positions could help him emerge from a crowded group.

Mac McWilliams

McWilliams enters his second season needing to establish himself on special teams. His quickness and aggressive coverage style could generate attention during one-on-one drills and preseason games.

Johnny Wilson

At 6-foot-6, Wilson is impossible to overlook. His size, blocking ability and red-zone potential give him a distinct profile in Philadelphia’s remodeled receiver room. He could reshape the roster conversation with greater consistency as a pass catcher.

Keyshawn James-Newby

James-Newby recorded nine sacks and 15 tackles for loss at New Mexico in 2025. The seventh-round rookie’s motor and pass-rush production could make him a frequent presence around quarterbacks during camp.

Uar Bernard

Bernard may have the most compelling story on the roster. The Nigerian-born defensive tackle has almost no football experience, but his 4.63-second speed at 306 pounds gives him extraordinary developmental potential.

Not every camp favorite will make the initial roster. Each of these seven players, however, possesses a trait capable of making him difficult to ignore.
