The Miami Dolphins still need cornerback help.
After prioritizing the trenches in the 2025 NFL draft, the Dolphins are still weak at the position and set to get even weaker with Jalen Ramsey on the trading block. Miami cut ties with Kendall Fuller earlier this offseason and is left with Storm Duck, Cam Smith, and Artie Burns to compete for roles on the outside with Kader Kohou in the slot.
Unsurprisingly, the Dolphins have their eye on the free agents still on the market. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the team is interested in former Packers and Bills starter Rasul Douglas, among others.
Here are seven corners on the free agency market that could fit in with Miami:
The aforementioned Douglas is a logical target for the Dolphins. At 6'2, he has prototypical length on the outside and a knack for creating turnovers. The veteran has 80 starts under his belt, including 42 in the last three seasons. While his 2024 season was rough, a one-year deal in Miami makes plenty of sense.
The 25-year-old former second-round pick is an intriguing option; however, his neck and shoulder injury gives pause. Samuel had a great start to his career with the Chargers, but was limited to just four games in 2024 and he's reportedly continuing to have issues relating to the injury. If the Dolphins medical staff believes it's not a concern, he could be the top coverage defensive back on this list.
In four seasons with the Steelers and another four with the Bengals, Hilton has proven himself a consistently reliable corner. Just one problem: he's 5'9 and has spent almost all of his career in the slot. Perhaps the Dolphins would be comfortable sliding Kohou out to the outside and inserting Hilton into the secondary. But if the team likes Kohou inside, Hilton could be a value add.
The question is whether Gilmore still has gas left in the tank. The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year has played for five teams in the last five seasons and, even at age 34, was still decent last year in Minnesota, even if he's not the player he once was with New England.
The former Seahawks Pro Bowler was a high-priced free agency add for the Jaguars a few years ago, but was waived by both Jacksonville and Houston in 2023. After bouncing back in decent stints with Carolina and Minnesota, Griffin could be ready to compete for a starting job again.
Bradberry is another former high-priced free agent whose best days may be in the past. After signing an extension with the Eagles in 2023, he had arguably the worst year of his career and was credited by PFF with allowing 10 touchdowns in coverage. Then he missed all of 2024 with a torn Achilles. The corner will turn 32 before next season, but could be worth a flier to see if he's healthy enough to return to form.
Henderson was a top 10 draft pick in 2020, but the Jaguars threw in the towel and decided he was a bust early in his second season with the team. He didn't fare much better in Carolina where his highest PFF grade was 52.9.
