The Indianapolis Colts announced that six players will be inactive for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Broncos.

On game days, teams are only permitted to have 48 players available.

Colts vs. Broncos Week 2 inactives

  • CB Charvarius Ward
  • DE Laiatu Latu
  • TE Will Mallory
  • OT Luke Tenuta
  • RB Tyler Goodson
  • QB Riley Leonard

Ward was ruled out on Friday as he was still in concussion protocol at that time. Likely starting in his place will be Mekhi Blackmon, while providing depth at cornerback will be Johnathan Edwards and Chris Lammons.

Another big absence for the Colts will be Latu, who was a limited participant on Wednesday with a hamstring injury, and then he did not practice on Thursday or Friday.

With Latu out, JT Tuimoloau will make his NFL debut. Denver's Bo Nix was one of the least pressured quarterbacks in Week 1, according to PFF.

Goodson was listed as questionable as he continues to work his way back from an elbow injury. When the Colts elevated Ulysses Bentley on Saturday, that was a sign that Goodson still needed more recovery time.

As was the case last week, Mallory, Leonard, and Tenuta are inactive. This may end up being the case most weeks this season.
