5-win Browns helped produce 2 Pro Bowl QBs this year

The Cleveland Browns started training camp with five quarterbacks on their roster and a very open competition. In the end, the Browns traded away two of the quarterbacks, released one, added another, and kept both of the rookies. In the end, all five of the original quarterbacks started games in the NFL last year (their records as starters in parentheses):

  • Joe Flacco (1-5)
  • Kenny Pickett (1-1)
  • Tyler Huntley (2-0)
  • Dillon Gabriel (1-5)
  • Shedeur Sanders (3-4)

Much like Huntley a few seasons ago, Sanders making the Pro Bowl as a replacement surprised a lot of people. Sanders could be a part of Cleveland’s future, especially with his fit with Todd Monken’s offense, but his stats and analytics did not scream “Pro Bowler” in 2025.

Neither did Flacco’s stats, but the long-term veteran has finally made his first career Pro Bowl:

Many are shocked by the fact that Flacco had never made the Pro Bowl in his first 17 seasons and, maybe even more shocked, that the Browns had two Pro Bowl quarterbacks on their roster (who won a combined four games this year and threw a combined 20 interceptions).
