According to Over the Cap, the Pittsburgh Steelers currently sit with $32.122 million in salary cap space. A big chunk of their initial cap space, $11 million to be exact, is going to new Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf. Next up for the Steelers is the 2025 NFL draft but before that, the team might get word that quarterback Aaron Rodgers is signing with the team.

If this happens, a huge portion of that $32.122 million could be gone which would limit post-draft free agent options as well as signing the rookie class. If this happens, here are five Steelers veterans who could be cut to make room.

RB - Jaylen Warren

The Steelers just signed Warren, but cutting him would open up $5.346 million in cap space.

S - DeShon Elliott

The addition of Juan Thornhill could make Elliott expendable and free up $3 million in cap space.

G - Isaac Seumalo

This is a risky move without a solid replacement but releasing Seumalo would free up $7.875 million

RB - Cordarrelle Patterson

The addition of Kenneth Gainwell makes Patterson expendable and adds $2.8 million to the salary cap.

P - Cameron Johnston

Corliss Waitman played well enough the Steelers might let Johnston go and save $2.5 million in cap space.
