5-star Alabama football commit ranked amongst nation's top recruits

Five-star 2027 quarterback Elijah Haven is widely regarded as one of the top overall players from his class.

The rising star committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide in late April, and Haven has the potential to emerge as a star in Tuscaloosa as soon as his freshman season. Haven’s commitment to Alabama was ultimately a massive victory for the Tide’s 2027 class, with ESPN analyst Billy Tucker recently ranking the quarterback one of the top 25 overall college football recruits regardless of class, landing at No. 8 on the list.

Tucker also listed why Haven received the ranking of No. 8 overall, sharing his thoughts on the Alabama commit:

“The only five-star 2027 quarterback on this list, the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has a rare blend of prototypical size and arm strength,” Tucker said. “Haven plays with a good base and poise in the pocket, and he has an effortless release even if there's some room for more technical refinement. Haven's placement on his deep balls is one of his best attributes. He won't consistently beat teams with his legs, but he's mobile enough to extend plays when they break down. Haven's body of work in high school is already astounding: He has thrown for over 9,000 career yards, combined for 178 touchdowns and set the single-season state record as a junior with 62 touchdown passes. His powerful arm and physical makeup are reminiscent of former Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton, but Haven will be a more accurate college passer.”

Haven has showcased his abilities on countless occasions throughout his time at the high school level. The rising star is ranked as the No. 3 quarterback and the No. 10 overall player from the class of 2027, per 247Sports.

He is listed as the No. 1 overall player out of Louisiana as well, and has been nothing short of a star throughout his time at Dunham School.

A key piece of Alabama's 2027 class, Haven will now look to keep things rolling throughout his upcoming senior season, and then turn his attention toward joining the Crimson Tide in 2028.
