49ers tight on cap space?

They must be getting tight on cap space when they start bringing in players that haven't played for the last 2 years:

21:04 PT: SF49ers.com reports the San Francisco 49ers had former St. Louis Rams DT D’Marco Farr in town for a workout Tuesday. His last NFL season was 2000.<p>Methinks the 49ers might be in trouble this coming season. Same as the Rams. Maybe this is the year for the Cards to howl.

on top of that, it would be good to see the 49'ers fall flat on their face early in the season along with the Rams.
