George Kittle ended his 2025 NFL season with a torn Achilles suffered in the San Francisco 49ers' NFC wild card victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. But after rehab, the All-Pro tight end has his sights set on a return at the start of the 2026 season.

Kittle, 32, is eyeing the season-opener against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia, a lofty goal that is well attainable. Kittle, who has played all nine of his NFL seasons with the Niners, told Front Office Sports that it might be difficult, but that's his goal.

"Hey, that's the goal. That's what my goal is," Kittle said in an interview with FOS. "I was told it's not a crazy goal. And so, as long as I keep on the right path and everything goes the right way, hey, I got a chance."

He added: "As a 15-hour flight and a game like, four days before a normal opening day, that might make it a little bit difficult, sure, but who doesn't like a challenge? So, no, I've got a chance, like I said, so just going to keep my head down, keep grinding every single day."

Kittle suited up in 11 regular-season games for San Francisco during the 2025 season as he missed time with a sprained left ankle. He still piled up 57 receptions for 628 yards and seven touchdowns.

In 2025, he put up nine catches, 84 yards and a touchdown against Los Angeles.

In case you were wondering, the trip from Levi's Stadium to Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia is approximately 7,900 miles and typically takes about 17 hours of flight time for the overseas journey across the Pacific Ocean.
