The son of one of the greatest basketball players of all time is transferring to a Sunshine State powerhouse for his senior season.
Shooting guard Malik Olajuwon, a four-star prospect in the 2027 cycle and son of NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon, is transferring from Clements (Texas) to IMG Academy (Fla.). Sam Kayser of League Ready was the first to report the transfer.
He follows his older brother, incoming Stanford freshman Aziz Olajuwon, who also transferred to IMG for his final high school season last year.
Malik is the No. 83 overall prospect and No. 21 shooting guard in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies.

He’ll join an IMG roster that also includes five-star SG Jordan Page, four-star small forward Josh Leonard and four-star SF Will Brunson, among others. The Ascenders finished last season as the No. 47 team in the nation, per the Rivals Composite Rankings.
Olajuwon has picked up offers from SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Auburn, Minnesota, Mississippi State, West Virginia and Wake Forest.
“I think I play hard, play the right way, make the right reads. I can shoot pretty well,” Malik told Conor O’Neill of Deacons Illustrated earlier this month. “Pretty good around the rim, pretty athletic, I can jump pretty well. … I need to get a little stronger, faster, all that.”
As a junior for Clements in Sugar Land, Texas, Olajuwon averaged 21.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, per MaxPreps. He shot 43 percent from the floor, including 28 percent from 3-point range.
